Dave,
I too have found the Triflo oil loaded with microscopic ball bearings, an 
ideal quick fix for old sticky grease in mechanisms such as the PTO 
bearings.  No downside if you are careful to not get it all over the other 
radio components.  Even then, it is just oil and teflon.  The product is 
available at hardware and home centers, as well as in the bicycle trade.

In some cases of sticky mechanisms, you can force enough in by the spray to 
not have to disassemble mechanical shafts and sleeves.
