[TenTec] So long

Rob,

Thanks for the kind words, but not sure my name is quite a household word,
especially at Ten Tec service.

In any case, I've been a Ten-Tec owner since my Corsair in 1983, and only on
ARRL staff the past 4 years. I have used their service department with the
Corsair, my current Paragon, Centaur and TT-238 Tuner.

I did not notice any difference in service between the two intervals in
terms of helpfulness, response time or price. In fact, if they were really
worried about who I was, they probably would have fixed it so it didn't need
to go back! But they responded appropriately under their warranty, I
received it back yesterday, and a quick check this morning looks like my
problem is resolved.

sent them and are now sending me back my 20+ year old Paragon on a warranty
repair following service for a PLL problem in June.

I can't say for sure that they got it this time, but I'm pleased with their
response with this as well as work they've done on my Centaur and TT-238
Tuner.

Joel,

You are a nice guy and I think the world of you but surely you are not
so naive as to think that your position with QST and the ARRL has
nothing to do with your responses from Ten Tec? I have my problems
with TT, but one of them isn't that I think they are so stupid that
they'd blow you off with some pat answer such as "It must have been
lightning." Please Joel, don't kid yourself.
