[TenTec] regarding "open source" in survey

Ron,

Couldn't agree with you more. A good example of the open source concept is
Flex Radio. Yes I own a Flex 5000A and I also own an Orion II with 3
roofing filters. I didn't think a receiver could get much better than the
OII but (I think) Flex has made a significant improvement in receiver
capability. Anyone can contribute to the open source Flex SVN site. In
doing this and with so many talented people contributing, the Flex just
keeps getting better. I sure wish TT would incorporate this thinking. By
the way. I'm sure there will be disinters! I'm just stating my opinion and
I'm not looking for argument!!

Regards to all,

I have remained silent but did participate in the survey.

I find the survey sufficient and understand TT approach to such. Merely
a study to procure interests in possibly designing their next radio(s).

However some have admitted to checking open source/software acceptance
and rightly so.

To understand open source concept, I refer you to following links
regarding this subject.
I find open source concept workable and reliable. One only needs to look
at "Firefox" and "Open Office" among many others among them, Linux. for
example, has matured into a reliable product used by many agencies,
corporations, governments, servers Hollywood movie makers and of course
in homes, as desktop operating system both in this country and across
the world.

this should be enough for all to research and go from there ...
