Hi Barry,

Yes, you're right.  The K3 has a better sub receiver (for amateur band use) 
than the Orion or O II.  I had forgotten about that, probably because all I 
ever use the sub receiver for, besides occasional general coverage listening, is 
spotting callers in pile-ups.  I find the O II sub receiver perfectly adequate 
for that, in my experience anyway.  I don't have a lot of strong locals to 
deal with out here in the desert -- just one really, and his 160m key clicks are 
so bad that nothing can get rid of him (hi).  

Sub receiver strong-signal performance is more important in a contest 
situation than for what I do, so once again I suspect that a contester's choice of 
radio may be different than mine.
