Having had my finger hit several rack fans over the years I can share the
experience:  You hear this funny little "pizzng" sound, then a few moments
later you feel something that gets you to take a look.  About the time you
see a bit of your finger sliced off, that something turns to a very
interesting level of pain, about the time the bleeding starts in earnest.
You will never forget the "pizzing" sound. It makes the next steps occur
much quicker the second or third time you hear it.  :)  Dogs learn in two,
technicians learn after three.
