Regarding average power output, different ALC attack/release time constants 
within different radios will have a marked effect on average power. 
Secondly, those commenting are likely using different metering systems which 
themselves will show different values, again due to dynamic response of the 
meter and associated circuits.

If one should want higher average SSB power then consider a configuration 
for reduced transmit bandwidth, turn up the mike gain, and engage the speech 
processor.
