[TenTec] Orion2 USER1/2 etc

Can anyone explain the use of the USER buttons? I set my Orion up as I like 
it, press the USER1 button for 2 seconds to store the current settings. I 
then press the USER1 button for 1 second and the O2 reverts back to factory 
defaults??
Once in a while I mean to press the SEND3 button and fat finger the USER1 
button. Oh NO, the O2 is back to factory defaults.
Maybe when it is turned off my defaults aren't stored in non volatile 
memory???
