Commerical audio cable is typically a  twisted pair in a vinal jacket 
depending on application.  I've never tried the twisted pair for a 
transmission line but my DX-35 almost never saw coax.  It loved the old zip 
cord with one conductor stuck into the SO-239 center hole and the other tied
