TVI can occur anywhere any time regardless of the quality of the coax, the connectors or any thing else.... the number of vaiiables must be in the millions.

Then again, it can not hapen when it should. My standard TV ant is abt 12 feet from my 40 m dipole and on same height. I get TVI on only one channel, whereas it should blow up the set hi hi. There are several web sites and books that discuss this in exhaustive detail, but the short answer is... u will have TVI when it happens but can not be predicted accurately.

BTW, beware of doing ANYTHING to a tv set that you do not own in legal-minded America... U put a nice free filter on ur neighbor's tv and the TVI goes away... but weeks later same neighbor claims your filter blew up his set and he wants $2,000 from you today!!! And he also wants u to pay for his wife's dental bill due to RF in her metal fillings. Sad to say, 73
