[TenTec] Is this normal for OMNI V PBT

With no antenna connected is it normal for the PBT control to cause the S  
meter to go from 0 db to about a 6 db by turning the PBT control off  center?
All seems normal with OMNI V rig but this does not happen on my  Corsair II 
when I turn PBT on it.
