Thanks for that Randy - my MFJ207 was faulty but repaired under warrenty - previously the MFJ went right off scale at high VSWR but was accurate - now it stops at the full scale marking (which I think is wrong) but is now indicating that my G5RV dipose has below 8:1 swr from 1.5 to 30 Mhz - my Orion seems to more accurate - I just wanted to know just how accurate as I shall be sending the Analyzer back for further work.
John

John,
Actually, I have just put up a Sommer Log antenna 2 mo ago, and in the tuning process I compared my MFJ to what the Orion showed 75' away. The SWR was very close, one would show 1.4, the other was either 1.3 or 1.5...Pretty accurate and the Orion coax line went thru a 2 position switch and about 8 more feet of line. I was surprised. I am having trouble with my MFJ Analyzer and am using the Orion ATU as a indication. I have the latest downgrade 2.063Xg which provides a digital reading of VSWR (i.e. 4.8 : 1) on the top right of the screen display. Can any advise on a rough accuracy of this reading.
Also at what point in the circuit is the spectrum display obtaining the readings - they are very lively and not sympathetic with the S Meter reading ?
Merry Xmas to you all
