You must be reading something into his description of the symptoms that I
didn't see.

Oops. This could be bad for FCC certification!

Just my two cents worth. I have been running color 7 (which is a lot of
red) and as of yet (knock on wood) to observe the red sceen on either the
waterfall or spectrum.

The only abnormal thing I have observed is the receive suddenly going dead
on a particular band. This morning about 10 mins after working YI1AZ on 20M

RTTY, I noticed the band seemed very dead. I swithed to CW and sent out a
couple of "dids" to confirm I was at least transmitting. Everything
appeared normal, so I swithced to 40M and the receive was fine. Swithed
back to 20 and again a dead band. Turned the O2 off and then back on; low

and behold, all kinds of signals on the band.

I had a similiar problem on 17M a couple months ago where all of a sudden
the SWR on my 17M beam was "out to lunch". I put the tuner in line and
matched the radio to the load. I was thinking something had gone wrong with

the beam, but I decided to see what the Alpha 87A said. When I keyed the
radio with the amp in line I got an immedate fault of "attempt to transmit
on invalid freq".

I thought that was funny, so I cycled the power on the O2 and be damned if
the SWR on 17M was where it should be. Checked the amp again and everything

worked fine.

Have no idea what freq the O2 decided to"wonder off to", but cycling the
power fixed the problem
