[TenTec] More Omni A B and C questions

My Omni C does the same thing.  when I switch in the 500hz filter the s-meter drops off to nothing.  It is like it dies unless a pretty stong signal pops it back to life.  Otherwise mine works great and I love the rig.  I have just gotten used to it.
