[TenTec] Scotch 33 - Non corrosive RTV

The original Dow Corning 732 sealant was an acetic acid emitting RTV.  
Later, alcohol cure RTV was developed. Humidity is required to cure RTV 
compounds of the 732 type, and perhaps the later alcohol versions as well.

Commercially in retail this is sold as GE Silicone II in Home Depot and 
other chain home centers.

Scotch makes one tape that is designed to be stretched to cause it to 
adhere to itself.  These are known as self amalgamating tapes, and are 
dull black as opposed to high quality 33 Plus shiny electrical tape.
The self amalgamating tapes actually fuse lap to lap and must be cut 
away but are good for armoring coax connectors against environmental 
exposures.
