SeaBond strips, or another brand of denture adhesive might help....

Sorry, couldn't stop myself

Subject: [TenTec] Electret Microphone "plopping/clicking"

I have recently adapted various electret head sets and microphones to my
Orion 2, running 2.041XT, and have received report on a "Plopping" or
"Clicking" sound emanating when PTT is activated, it's fairly regular
making the sound 3-5 times per second. It's clearly audible on Monitor,
and also when monitoring the signal on another receiver.
I bias the electret element from the voltage present on Pin2 through a
2.2KOhm resistor, and it does the "plopping" regardless of whether I put
in a blocking capacitor or not.
It does NOT occur when using my 708 Dynamic desk microphone.

Does anyone have an idea what can be causing this (HW/SW), and of a cure?
