[TenTec] help in soldering pl259 outside

Any benifit going to the "Gold Plated" 259's? I think it would be an excellent surface to solder too.

Get a small enough steel-bristle brush that fits inside the connector body, and scratch it up thoroughly where you are trying to get solder to flow. Do the same to the outside where the solder holes are. It'll solder much more readily, with much less heat. It'll take about 30-45 minutes for a new layer of oxide to form on the nickel.
