Perhaps of use for other Orion operators. We have finished developing & testing a small windows program (tested on XP, Vista and 7) which allows very quick adjustment of threshold and RF gain through graphical user interface. Besides regular sliders it also provides S meter buttons associated with combined threshold knee point and RF Gain settings. For each Orion firmware the user can create own settings associated with S meter values as available through the program. Look at main S-meter for undesired signal level (for example S4 band noise) and click within the program on S4 or S5... This will adjust threshold and RF Gain to "optimized" value with one click.

At minimum it provides a quick way to adjust threshold and RF Gain in a single screen without having to dive into menu etc. Program size is about 350 Kbyte and is available through download in yahoo TT 565 forum. Program has been used and tested for both Orion 565 and 566 and results are good.
