Thanks to all who replied. I'll respond to each in turn. The general gist is 
on a first come first serve basis and to send registered mail from France. 
This may not be cheap but should ensure safe delivery. Payment by Paypal 
would be preferred.
When I said paxolin band change rod it was in fact the band change 
switch/click mechanism.
If anyone can give me Dan's em details I'd like to get back in touch. Dan 
returned the favour by accepting a US only Ebay order for a couple of golf 
clubs and I covered the costs to France.  Magic!
