When setting up USB is the default. Any soundcard should work.
Digipan is good for starters. Look into FLDIGI; it is well supported.

Hi all , I am trying to get started in digital coms. I have a Orion II
hooked up to my sound card and ready to go .  I have a couple of questions
1) is there a default mode I should be in when running digital modes ie. usb
, fsk ?   2 ) Is the rocket fish 7.1 sound card adequate for the digital
modes ? I am going to try and use digipan for starters . thanks for your
