Yep. the RE27 is a superb mic, although it needs a lot of HF boost to make 
it sound good on a ham rig. It's primary uses are as an announce mic and 
for recording music. That's why I own several of them (and also RE20s). 

I own more than three dozen pro mics, and I consider the boom mic on the 
CM500 just about the best mic you can buy to use with a ham rig.
