The Pargaon came with two versions of the battery. The earlier one  
used a standard 9v battery. The later one added a charging circuit and  
replaced the battery with a 9v NiCad.

I did a quick web search and found this page:

If you look at the picture of the rig being placed on the bench for  
the first time, you can see the battery quite clearly in the center of  
the radio (from right to left) in the rear. If you look at the front  
just left of the display, and follow it back, you'll see it.
