[TenTec] Attic antennas

My 40 meter dipole seems to work quite well, and 20 is OK. During the SSB and CW sweepstakes, I had nearly 100% response to calls on 40 and 20. They won't load up on 80 or 160, however. And no amount of thought will remove the large amount of metal in the attic, including the cable TV coax, power lines, air ducts, and furnace. There isn't a spot in the entire attic that isn't a few feet away from something metal. I'm sure some of the power is going into that sink.

In addition, there are trusses on 24" centers throughout the attic, which makes moving around very difficult, especially in view of the fact that I am disabled. An outdoor antenna would be easier to erect, and probably work better.

I am running a 40 meter dipole and a Mosley Mini 33 tri bander in the attic,
beam is fixed pointed to the northeast, and have DXCC using QRP.
They work well when given some thought.
