[TenTec] PTO Rebuild or not?

Rebuild is a relatively easy job. Worst part is getting the PTO in and out of the rig. By all means do it yourself. I've done over a dozen and they keep getting easier.

No need to realign. Just remove, rebuild and reinstall. Nice one-day project. Take your time and enjoy the process

Subject: [TenTec] PTO Rebuild or not?

I own an Omni D that works well and enjoy using, except the PTO is beginning
to drag.  Have the kit to rebuild it, have never done a rebuild before, but
am reasonably mechanically capable. TT tells me the price is $125 to rebuild
it, and then of course the shipping will likely add at least another $50.
They tell me alignment after rebuild is probably not necessary.

So, appreciate advice about rebuilding/having TT rebuild it/ or avoiding the
issue by just selling the rig,    Finally, assuming I rebuild, what is the
best solvent to remove the old grease?  Is Varsol ok?
