Dean,

What version of the Orion software are you running? There is a bug in some
versions, but not the latest related to the headsets. If you have the
sub-receiver on AM and you transmit on SSB, the headphones loose audio.
Change the sub-receiver to SSB and turn the rig off and on and see if that
cures the problem. I can't remember if the problem required a reset.

I have recently begun doing some SSB skeds using my Orion I and a Heil
Proset Quiet Phone headset.  I acquired the headset at SeaPac a few years
ago but have only now really begun to use it.  My only complaint is that I
can not get adequate volume with this setup even at max audio gain on the
Orion.  Does anyone else have experience with this combination and perhaps a
fix?

I am also curious as to comparisons between the Heil Headset and the new
TenTec 777 particularly regarding the efficiency of the speakers.
