This is exactly what I'm thinking of. 

So... let's think this through.

Presuming: 
-- That we have a (generic) enclosure holding the N4YG board.  
-- The enclosure has a Radio/RVFO switch; for the Corsair/Corsair II,
equivalent of the A/B switches without the A+B (Rx) functionality
-- And that the user is, at least for the "basic" version, willing to forgo
the A+B Receive functionality

This sounds like it MAY be feasible.  But what type of ballpark figures are
we looking at?

The thought also occurs to me that it might be possible to adapt this unit
for use with other older analog radios that may be Remote VFO capable, both
Ten-Tec and others, but first things first.

I am very intrigued by this notion.  I am quite happy with my Corsair II,
even though it's currently the backup radio (an Omni VI+ will do that to
you) in the shack.  Still, there are always some things... 

For one, for me at least and possibly for others... with some of the "top"
contesters pushing for exact QRG in the logs, the day is coming for me when
I won't be able to compete with the Corsair, not because the radio itself
isn't capable (it obviously is!) but because the technology, or at least the
(lack of) bells & whistles included, has fallen behind.  A solution like
this can put the old girl back in the front lines, at least on paper.
Certainly seems better than spending shekels I don't have on a "new &
improved" radio that sometimes... isn't.

Ron,

It would be almost trivial to mount the N4YG board in an enclosure, 
connect to the accessory socket of the Corsair, and have a switch which 
allowed you to opt between the DDS and the internal PTO. If you were 
happy with the "Split" functionality of the DDS there would be no need 
for any further circuitry; but if you wanted the "Listen on A+B" 
functionality of the 263 you would need to replicate the VFO 
switching/mixer board.
