Richards,
   Set the meter to the lowest OHMs scale (some meters have a "buzzer" or
tone on this scale).  Connect the probes across the disconnected fuse and
you should see a zero or near zero reading.  If the meter doesn't move, the
fuse is open and would need replacing.

OK... rookie question... how do you do that?  Is it just a continuity
check, or are you doing something else ?   If something else, could
you please explain what settings I need on my little meter?  I am
slowly learning what all these things do.
