[TenTec] New Life for Argosy--PTO / DDS Swap

The subject of the DDS replacement for a PTO or VFO came up over the weekend on a web forum I frequent, specifically in regards to a Cubic/Astro restoration.
Considering the interest that keeps appearing for one of these units for the 5 - 5.5 MHz PTO/VFO rigs, the thought keeps occuring to me that there may be a need for a general-purpose DDS unit that can be (with the proper cabling, of course) plugged into one of these rigs as a direct replacement for an external or remote VFO assembly.
