Rick:  The FIRST thing I had to do when I retired was to buy a battery operated wrist
watch,  I didn't have time to wind my old one!  HI

You are right on with the Honey-do list... I work my &^% off and the darn thing gets
bigger every day.   I'm able to get into the shack every day or so at night to work a few.

I remember my uncle had a basement full of QSTs when he passed.  He started in 1925
and remained active until the late 1970s.

73 and I'll hang on to my QSTs for a while.

John,

On the retirement front, you left one thing out which I guess we men don't
tend to plan for, but believe me it's alive and just waiting on us...

Yes, I too thought I would retire and sit in an arm chair by the fireplace
and catch up on reading.

Well guess what.  My XYL had her own to do list for me when I retired.  I
spent the first 6 months of my retirement working her list before I could
even touch my own list!

Now the real frustration:  I got my Eagle in November one year ago and
shipped it to Germany with my house hold goods, the first week of December.
It was in storage for 4 months until I got here.  Then I worked on my XYL's
list for 6 months, and in October I finally got my antenna up, just in time
for CQWW SSB.  So although I was one of the very first to own an Eagle, I
didn't actually get to really use it for almost one year.

One thing is sure though; like you said, I don't see how I ever found time
to work.  There's too much other stuff to do.

BTW, today I logged into my Zinio account and converted the entire December
issue of CQ Magazine to one large PDF file.  It is 124 MB in size.  Assuming
they will all be that size, I'll be able to save 3 years of CQ Magazine to a
single DVD.  I sure hope the other ham rags do the same thing.  Then the
problem described in this thread goes away.
