I don't do that much SSB but am very pleased with the 707 Regal.  It  needs 
more gain than condenser mikes (HW gain 12 dB, MIC 55 with my voice) but  
it sounds great.

I also have  the TT OII...which  TT mic are you using?
What are your EQ and other  Mic settings?

I disconnected my Heil and all  processing equipment I used with my
ORION ll.  I
am using the  Ten-Tec mic and internal EQ.  I get outstanding audio
reports.   No
muss no fuss.
