W5BXE, Why not the Eagle? The Eagle looks good for the type of ham you describe yourself as being. And it would go over better with the XYL vs. the cost of the VII. The VII sounds more like a contester rig to me and it is larger than the compact Eagle. I would have had an Eagle by now, but have been busy with other things. Stuart Rohre K5KVH
