I also had about two S units loss on an Omni VI+ when switching in the 9 MHz
IF
500 Hz crystal filter. The problem was traced to a bad crystal in the
filter where
re-soldering would not fix the problem. So the filter was modified to be a
7 pole
instead of an 8 pole filter. It works fine now and the filter loss
amplifier in the
9 MHz filter board exactly compensates for the filter loss when the 500 Hz
filter
is switched in.
