I think what you have is an MJE520 (originally manufactured by Motorola).

Possible substitute parts: BD 177, BD 185, BD 435, 2N5190...92

A quick check of Mouser and Digi-Key doesn't yield a match. However, some 
surplus dealers seem to have them available, and the Central Semi 
manufacturer website shows the MJE520 as a current product.

Electronic Goldmine (surplus dealer) shows MJE520s in stock at $1.49 US:
