[TenTec] September QST Ad

I would echo Fabrizio's, "That's typical of folks who have nothing to do."

Now I realize that many of us might better get a "day job," but, then again,
we have worked hard to become gainfully unemployed! :>) Just as we should
give TenTec a break, perhaps we should not take the critiques with a grain
of salt?

Sorry, I have to run - As part of Fall cleaning I'm dusting the inside of my
Delta II - those toroids seem to gather dust.

No sense.

I enjoy SSB and CW too.
The mike is always connected to my Orion II.
Also when I'm monitoring CW band plan.

But without mike, he would say that is Eagle just a receiver?

In Italy we usually say: "C'è proprio tanta gente che non ha nulla da fare".
It sounds like: "They have nothing to do".

Like him.

Here's what I found interesting: Several months ago, Ten Tec ads used to be
loaded with spelling and punctuation errors, like using an apostrophe for
plurals ("The menu's are..."). The complainer on qrz.com didn't seem to mind
that. (I sent Ten Tec an email and said that, in view of how elegant their
products are, they should at least hire a proof reader for their ad copy.
Errors like that don't inspire confidence. Since then, their ads have been
perfect.)

The other thing I noticed is that the complainer proclaims that he has been
a follower of the Urantia book (unless I'm misreading his qrz page). I can't
imaging that anyone who falls for that would be capable of much critical
thinking. But that's just my take.

I don't know if anyone else on this reflector spends any time on the
www.qrz.com forums. But it seems that one of the forum moderators took note
of the September QST ad for the Eagle, and has started having a little bit
of fun with it. What's the problem? The radio as pictured is tuned to
14.060... and there's a hand mike shown, but no key. Obviously a BIG
mistake... right. But see for yourselves, if you're interested...
