I'm not suggesting that they toughen the exam, only that the present one is 
so easy that anyone who wants the Extra privileges can pass it if he wants 
to.  Jim and I aren't better than you for having gotten our Extras in the 
1950s, just older.  We did what was required at the time, same as you did.

As for bad operating  on 75, bad operators come in all flavors.  I mostly 
stay on CW where there are fewer of them.
