Bob

The 40 "imop" is the cats meow ( and the only one I have ) right now there seems to be too much of the wispr talk on 30 and it seems that it's really the only thing I see people talking about -- also a band I cannot use at the time -- I'm only a tec I do plan on buying the 20 and 80 versions and put them in the same type of case
For he tuner I use an original NorCal blt in a different case than the pc clad case and the NorCal dublet for a antenna It's all small and easy to carry it took me some time to track down the ribbon wire to make the antenna but if you search good ole eBay you can come across it !!

I still wish I would have not sold my scout but things got a little tight around here but was able to make due and horse traded a few other things I wasn't using and got the ft-847

I had fun building the swl 40 -- it was a second hand unit that wasn't built all the way and it works great --

Good luck and hope to see you on the bands

The Scout, mic, key, band modules, power cable and Ten Tec power supply (the TPS P-11) all fit in an attache style tool chest purchased for $20 from Home Depot. A reel-out dipole (made from AN/CRT-3 life raft transmitter antenna reels) and coax go in a separate duffel bag.

For power I had a small mfj mity power supply -- it was small and 20 amps was plenty of power -- wish I would have kept those to have now when I go to my folks place I don't really want to carry around my ft847 and the bigger tuner -- I could do it but that would mean I would have to put every thing in a large pelican case and it takes up too much room -- other than my rockmite and a cut dipole thats only what I carry now and it goes in my go bag I carry every day -- a Kata photo bag ( looks like a backpack with some dividers to keep things organized ) and I have room for my iPad and wifi is j

I guess I could take one of the rigs I have here, but I am reluctant to leave a rig in the house because it has been broken into. I am just wondering if several people might like to suggest a good rig to take along. Small is good, but meduim size with an internal supply would be nice. It must be a good CW rig. Low priced would be good. I like Ten Tec, but any brand works.
