Note that you can try the new version and, if you don't like, it, easily revert 
back to your old version. In either case, you'll have to write down your 
settings so that you can reload them. That's the really neat thing about the 
Orion (or any SDR): it becomes whatever software tells it to become and you can 
undo anything you do based on software.

Subject: [TenTec] Orion 565v1.373B vs. V565v3.030

Would appreciate hearing from any users of the above firmware versions on the 
Orion 565 and if upgrading to the present version is the way to go.

I have been using v1.373B for a few years and it seems to work well on my 565 
but hope to get comments by those who upgraded.
