If I'm understanding your question;

I found the BEST (for me) was to first set the RF Gain fully counter-clock 
wise (minimum setting), then set the AF Gain to full clock-wise (or nearly 
so) then increase Clock-wise the RF Gain to set the audio level.

Is there anyone out there who has a Corsair II that can give me some 
information.  I am looking for the setting on the RF Gain control when the 
signal disappears.  If you are looking at the control from the front, what 
is the setting on the scale does the signal disappears?  The control is wide 
open at the 10 position and then you rotate counter-clockwise to reduce the 
gain.  Appreciate some feedback.
