Now you opened the floodgates Dave,

I have been holding my thoughts on this -

You take your favorite Drake R-4C  with its three CW filters on the back (no 
worry about slots) for 1.5Khz; .5Khz and .250Khz and chose according to ear, 
then you tweak with the RF gain and bandpass tuning for even more enjoyment.

Most modern rigs will allow you to add that extra, classic receiver and you 
have that nice blue glow and plenty of knobs to fiddle with.

Hook that to your Flex and enjoy life!
