[TenTec] Omni 7 shuts down on overcurrent on 10-12 meters only

I would guess that if your radio is designed even close to the way my old
Paragon is set up. You have one or more bad Diodes on the Band Pass Board.
The Band Pass Board selects various values of Inductance and Capacitance
that keep the Output of the Transmitter from outputting various harmonic
signals. This also has a lot to do with Matching the Final Stage to your 50
Ohm Load. If these various Coils and Capacitors are being Wrongly Selected,
then you are looking at Massive SWR and a really bad match ( maybe even a
short electronically ) to the Final Output Devices. Every time you change
bands, the Microprocessor will output a certain combination of voltages to
the Band Pass Board. If One or more of these diodes are shorted or open
..... Your radio will see a Massive Mismatch at the Finals. I would use the
Diode Check function or the R times one setting on an Analog meter to check
these diodes.
