Like I was saying, it's almost exactly the same part number. The stock part is Bourns ENA1J-B28-L00128 and the one on Ebay is ENS1J-B28-R00128. If you check the Bourns EN series data sheet, you'll find that the only differences are that the Ebay one has a ball-bearing shaft and it has radially oriented connector pins instead of axially oriented (both, I think are better for this application). It's the same 128 ppr, 1/4" shaft encoder and it is working great in my rig.
It was too good of a deal to not pass the info along.
