[TenTec] Fw: Need Caps for Titan II Please

It all depends on what you are using it for. The door knob is a ceramic
cap. If the use is to parallel the loading cap, then the high voltage is
not needed. A 1000-1500VDC disk ceramic would be more than adequate. If
you are concerned about current, then you parallel a few caps to increase
the current carrying capacity. Three 100pF at 1000VDC caps in parallel
would make an excellent replacement for the hard to find and expensive door
knob style caps. But, if you have a lot of money to burn, look around for a
NOS silver plated door knob cap. They will probably cost you $25-30 each
and of course you will want to buy several to have a few spares. ;-)

Mouser.com will have them a lot cheaper! A 330pF ceramic cap at 6KV only
costs 73 cents!

Bob and others
On pg 43 of the latest RF Parts catalog, there are 300 PF\7.5KV caps for
less than 20 bucks.
