To say that Ten-Tec has standardized may be true for their modern or more complex transceivers, but not a true statement for all Ten-Tec radios.

Their simpler rigs (e.g., Scout, Argosy), have LSB for 40 meters and below and USB for 20 meters and above.  (I can't recall which for 30 meters.)  A user of these radios gets used to tuning in different directions for zeroing in on a signal depending on the band your using.

Regarding the original post, if calibration is correct, it shouldn't matter whether you are normal/reverse, USB/LSB, in being right on the signal.
