*My antenna has been the same for 35 years. 63 feet of # 12 wire times 2.
That's 126 feet of wire and fed with 450 ohm Stranded Ladder Line. We have
virtually the same feed system. I use a home wound 1:1 Current Balun now
but for years I just used an Ugly Balun or Choke Balun which consisted of
21 feet of RG-8X wrapped around a piece of 3 inch PVC Drain Pipe at 2 feet
long. If you are ever sitting around the shack and happen to be looking at
a piece of Coax and also some PVC Pipe, give it a try. I have been told
that the Current Balun works much better than a 4:1 Voltage Balun. I have
examined every Antenna Tuner I could and find that MFJ and all the other
Companies that Martin F. of MFJ owns, use 1:1 Current Baluns. I will be at
Staples as soon as the weather warms up. I am Impressed. What a Great Way
to make Ladder Line. Thanks so very much.......I can't wait to get some of
your designed Ladder Line in the air.*
