Phil, definitely clean the board connections with alcohol at first. If extreme tarnish, gently clean with pink pearl eraser. It may be the band switch contacts. Get some De Oxit from Caig sold at Radio Shack and spray the contacts and rotate the switch numerous times before the DeOxit dries. Good Luck, Stuart Rohre K5KVH
