[TenTec] Orion II received is down.

 Bill,
The same thing happens once or twice a year in my Orion 565. The problem in my case is that one of the internal relays hasn't closed "enough" and is left with a dry contact closure. In other words it has mechanically changed state but for whatever reason there is poor electrical contact across the contacts. My remedy is to simply cycle through all the TX/RX/antenna position relays and when you operate the offending relay your receiver should come alive. Since operating the T/R relay by transmitting doesn't cure the problem, the culprit is one of the others.

Or, it could be something else!

The s meter works great on transmit. When I turn the rf gain up or down it makes a big difference in the audio. I thought the bands were in very bad shape but n5ye said the band were fine. I have the band with(BW) on 3000 cycles and BPT on 0. I see very few signals on the scope on the front of the rig. Could my problem be one of the plugs behind the front of the rig not makeing good contact?
