[TenTec] OCF antennas evolution

Bob,

I too agree it's time to kill this one.

I have learned a lot. And I promise I'll get a 1:1 balun and a short hunk of coax for the connections to the 260 foot doublet I plan on putting up.

Like I said, I have a major antenna project going on.

50 foot tilt over universal aluminum tower (Big hole with 6 cubic yards of concrete)

DX engineering hex beam

double bazooka for 40
another one for 30

a alpha delta plain jane 20 meter dipole

six meter dipole

and the 260 foot doublet.

And the OCF dipole will remain, untouched, in the only tree in the yard.

If it doesn't rain today, I'll use the winch on the jeep to lift the tower into place.

In the mean time, is that 'dot' on the Ten Tec logo orange or red?

And as Rick pointed out, just because one does it, doesn't make it correct. Sometimes companies play "follow the leader" and end up with less than optimum results. What was in demand for applications 20 years ago may not be the same as the needs today.
