Correct, simply saying that adding an amp and it correctly tuned/adjusted 
would not cause interference issues.

The use of the MIC gain or more correctly stated, the incorrect use of the 
mike gain, will have a dramatic effect on the results.  Add a bit of RFI 
getting back into the audio and one has a real nasty signal.  It not only 
sounds bad but is spectrally bad.  That fact along with the load on the amp 
will likely make a difference.

If someone wishes to provide me a FT-450 and ALS-500 I'll be glad to make 
measurements.
