I concur. A WinKeyer kit and an hour or two of soldering / building can make 
for reliable CW keying when using N1MM or other logging programs.

I've had the same issues, either using the serial or LPT port. Just too much 
stuff going on for my old computer I guess.
The main benefit that interests me about using winkey with N1MM is being 
able to know that my keyer is always set to the same speed as N1MM without 
having to adjust them individually.
