More info is needed.
Is this happening on all bands or specific ones?  Could be a relay or relays 
on the LP Filter board.
You have exercised the RX antenna switch on the rear, if not do so.
A good cleaning of all the connectors, using a very small amount of contact 
cleaner on each will cure many intermittent problems.

Sounds repairable to me.
