[TenTec] What is Ten Tec Doing Today?

the hardware mod is not expensive if one is willing to do that job himself.
however I am not inclined to take the many steps necessary to disassemble
the radio make the cuts in the circuit board and solder a jumper as my eyes
and hands do not coordinate as well as they did years ago even with a
magnifying glass. (age 70 now) I don't know what Ten Tec charges but I am
sure it is at least an hour's work for one of their tech's at whatever cost
per hour plus shipping both directions times two.
so I would be willing to do as I do for LOGic updates and pay a premium.
however I am not pleased with Dennis of LOGic either as LOGic is not stable
as it used to be. nor is MixW3 for that matter. both lock up and cause a
restart at times.
as you can see this is becoming a challenge for those of us who like and
want to make years of use of our "old" radios and software.
(aside: one son-in-law works for Microsoft and notes as most of us who use
Windows, that MS has never completed any application or OS before the next
version is being sold. I wonder if that sort of behavior is infesting our
loved Ten Tec.)
most of my friends in the Utah DX Association here in Salt Lake City have
moved from whatever they had to K3 systems. I have used the K3 at Field Day
and am impressed but the small size was not advantageous to my eyes or
fingers. thus I left the radio set on one frequency and ran rather than
search.
if Ten Tec does not address some of the issues noted on this website the K3
is going to take over their market.

What would the required hardware cost?
Not arguing... just asking... I take it you are
willing to pay for a software/firmware update,
but not hardware update to fix the sweep thing?
Happy days.
